It seems like the iKVM project has not had a lot of activity, and 8.1 has been release candidate for 2 years. Is anyone still actively developing?

Thanks,
Ken

It doesn't really need active development. Sometimes a software project actually completes. And if you raise support queries, they get answered.

No doubt! But if 8.1 is a release candidate, why isn’t it released? We would like Java 1.8 support.

"Sometimes a software project actually completes."

I initially read that as "compiles" and had a good laugh. ;)

IKVM has been very stable for us (but we don't use 1.8 features at
this moment). I'm sure Jeroen has a reason to keep 8.1 in RC state,
but this shouldn't keep you from trying it out -- if it works without
glitches, use it, regardless of the label attached.
